Abstract

In our recent article on the luminescence and compressibility of monoclinic (phase α) and triclinic (β) GdBO₃ submicron-sized crystals doped with Eu³⁺ [Woźny, P.; Runowski, M.; Sobczak, S.; Szczeszak, A.; Katrusiak, A.; Lis, S. High-Pressure Luminescence of Monoclinic and Triclinic GdBO3: Eu3+. Ceram. Int. 2020, 1–9. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ceramint.2020.03.258.] the bulk moduls value B_o of phase α-GdBO₃ should be 96(4) GPa, and for phase β-GdBO₃ B_o = 17.25(4) GPa. We confirm that the results of experiments reported in our paper [1] were corrected, but the bulk modulus value B_o of phase α-GdBO₃ given in Fig. 2c should be 96(4) GPa and 17.25(4) GPa for β-GdBO₃. Below we provide the corrected Fig. 2 c. These values have been obtained by processing the experimental results with program Pascal [2]. Accordingly, the 3 last sentences of the penultimate paragraph in Section 3.2. Structural analysis under high-pressure conditions should be changed to: (…) differs almost 3 times. The B_o for α-GdBO₃: Eu³⁺ obtained by us from the Birch-Murnaghan 2nd order function is smaller compared to the previously observed unexpectedly large values for the hexagonal GdBO₃ and YBO₃ [22], whereas our B_o magnitude agrees with that obtained from the ab initio calculations [23]. The presently measured unit cell parameters have been presented in Table S1 and S2.
