Abstract
Low frequency polarized Raman spectra of ferroelastic K3Na(SeO4)2 single crystal was examined in the temperature range from 80 to 360 K. The phase transition 3m 2/m at Tc=334 K is associated with A soft phonon mode in ferroelastic phase. Its fre-9 1/3 quency varies as (Tc - T)1/3 in very wide temperature range, suggestif a first-order type transition. The existence of another phase transition at TQ = 346 K was confirmed, by the vanishing of few modes at this temperature. © 1994, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
