Abstract
A current assessment of basic useful minerals of Wielkopolska is presented. Deposits of such fuels as brown coal, peat, petroleum and natural gas are discussed. Among metal ores, most attention is paid to iron ores, especially one of them, viz. meadow ores. The bed of copper ores extending into Wielkopolska from the Lubin Copper Basin is also discussed. In southern Wielkopolska it lies at a depth of 3.5 km. Among chemical minerals, much space is devoted to carbonate and argillaceous rocks, glassmaking and moulding sand, and aggregates. The final part is concerned with groundwater resources, including thermal water.
