Abstract
Recent experiments on magnetoresistance in dual spin valves reveal nonlinear features of electronic transport. We present a phenomenological description of such nonlinear features (current-dependent resistance and giant magnetoresistance) in double spin valves. The model takes into account the dependence of bulk/interface resistance and bulk/interface spin asymmetry parameters for the central magnetic layer on charge current, and consequently on spin accumulation. The model accounts for recent experimental observations. © 2010 The American Physical Society.
