Biological evaluation of an imidazole-fused 1,3,5-triazepinone nucleoside and its photochemical generation via a 6-azidopurine modified oligonucleotide

Abstract
The antitumor effects of a novel imidazole-fused 1,3,5-triazepinone nucleoside on KB, MCF-7, and HeLa cell lines were studied via a sulforhodamine B (SRB) colorimetric assay. The results show that the growth of three cancer cell lines studied was significantly inhibited. A method for incorporation of this novel 'fat' nucleoside into oligodeoxynucleotides, based on photochemical transformation of 6-azidopurine has been developed. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd.
