Abstract
In 2:1 LiClO4 trimethylamine-N-oxide and 4-methoxypyridine-N-oxide mixtures 2:1 Li+-N-oxide complexes are formed. If more N-oxide is present, 1: 2 complexes form. In the intermolecular O...Li+...O bonds the Li+ ions fluctuate in a broad flat single-minimum potential. These bonds show so-called Li+ polarizability as indicated by a continuum in the region below 250 cm-1. © 1988.
