Application of the fast ETAAS method for the determination of chromium, cobalt and nickel in samples of preserved food

Abstract
A fast method for the determination of chromium, cobalt, nickel in preserved food is presented. Samples were dried and wet ashed and the elements in question were determined using atomic absorption spectrometry with electrothermal atomization (ETAAS) using two temperature programmes. The use of the fast temperature programme which omits the ashing of the sample makes possible to shorten three times the analysis time. This method gives correct results when determining Cr, Ni and Co in samples of preserved food.
