The new triaza macrocyclic complex of yttrium

Abstract
The new triaza macrocyclic ligand complex of formula [YL1(NO3)3]·3H2O, where L1 is Me2bzopyo[10]tetraeneN3, has been prepared by template condensation of 2,6-diacetylpyridine with m-phenylenediamine in the presence of a yttrium salt. In the absence of the yttrium ion as a template agent, only the open-chain compound L2 with partially uncondensed carbonyl and amine groups was formed. The IR, UV-vis, 1H NMR and MS data along with elemental and thermogravimetric analysis were used to characterize the compounds obtained in this work. © 1990.
