Abstract

The aforegoing article presents the process of inculturation understood as the incarnation of the Gospel in the cultures of the present world. In the first part, based on the apostolic exhortation of Pope Francis „Evangelii Gaudium”, the most important challenges of the modern world are presented. We are currently witnessing huge cultural and material contrasts. On the one hand, one can see enormous progress and development in many areas of life, and on the other hand, increasing material and spiritual poverty. This creates specific challenges for the inculturation of faith. First of all, the Church should enter into a positive dialogue with the cultures of the world, accept them and evangelize. A special challenge for the Church is the cultures of large urban agglomerations, in which you need to build new relationships with God by using new methods of evangelization. In the work of inculturation, the pope greatly appreciates the strength of popular piety, which is most strongly connected with the local culture.
