Abstract
The paper reports results of studies of a new support obtained by modification of magnesium fluoride surface with titania. The IR and catalytic test results have shown favourable changes of the surface of the support after titania addition including the appearance of new hydroxyls as well as Lewis acid centres and redox sites. Introduction of active phase (WO3, V2O5, or MoO3) onto the surface of MgF2-TiO2 resulted in an increased number of Lewis and Brønsted (WO3, MoO3) or redox centres (V2O5). The catalysts based on the mixed support were found to be more active when compared with those supported on MgF2.
