Air Absorption of Train Noise
Authors:
- Rufin Makarewicz
Abstract
Air absorption is considered as a phenomenon modifying geometrical spreading. Expressions for the maximal A-weighted sound pressure level and the A-weighted sound exposure level are derived for train noise. They are given in terms of the tabulated change in sound pressure level due to air absorption for particular values of characteristic frequency, relative humidity and air temperature. The analysis proves that air absorption must not be ignored. © 1993 Academic Press Limited.
