Semiclassical and quantum mechanical pictures of the ro-vibrational motion of triatomic molecules
Authors:
- Jan Makarewicz
Abstract
Qualitative and quantitative aspects of the semiclassical method using rotational energy surfaces, are studied. These surfaces are determined for triatomic molecules by applying the rigid-bender model. A relation between the topology of the rotational energy surfaces and the structure of rotational multiplets is analysed. The semiclassical tools are used to determine properties of quantum ro-vibrational states. © 1990 Taylor & Francis Ltd.
