Harmonization of EU criminal law – issues of implementing EU directives
Authors:
- Karolina Kiejnich
Abstract
The EU criminal proceedings directives are aimed mostly at protecting the parties of criminal proceedings and at harmonization of protection standards among the EU members. Presenting how the provisions of the criminal law directives are implemented into the domestic law systems allows us to answer the fundamental question – is the harmonization of law, in the fi eld of criminal law, a success or a failure.
