Gold cyanide ion electroreduction on gold electrode

Abstract
The gold electrode equilibrium potential and discharge current are determined in solutions containing various KAu(CN)2 and KCN concentrations. From the experimental results and applying the equations proposed by Gerischer [1], it is found that the directly reducible species is AuCN, remaining at equilibrium with Au(CN)2- ions in solution. © 1979 Elsevier Sequoia S.A.
