Abstract
It results from our considerations and also from experimental data that on the ground surface 50 Hz EMW is propagated perpendicularly to the ground in large regions. So, the magnetic field (MF) has zero vertical component. The theoretical consideration was made on perturbation of MF caused by a long conducting cylinder. It was concluded that in the vicinity of such objects, the vertical component of magnetic field must occur. An evaluation of sensitivity of the method for detection of such a field was made.
