Abstract

The events of the recent months are being referred to as the greatest financial market crisis since the 1930s. The crisis stirred many hot discussions in which the possible causes of the crisis and ways in which a similar event could be prevented in the future were analysed. The debate that is still going on touches upon many aspects of the problem. Opinions are voiced by representatives of different branches of science, including sociology, psychology, law and economics. This fact is particularly noteworthy because the variety of the sources of the presented views confirm the thesis that contemporary financial markets are changing and the economic or legal knowledge only does not suffice to understand them. The occurrences of the last months require further analysis of the current situation and working on the ways of how to solve it.
