ATTEMPT TO DESCRIBE THE PARAMETER DETERMINING THE TIMBRE OF STEADY-STATE HARMONIC COMPLEX TONES.

Abstract
A demonstration is presented showing that changes in timbre of a chosen group of complex tones are directly connected with the perception of changes of parameter n, which characterizes the shape of the so-called ideal complex tone spectrum envelope. Assuming that the research on complex tone timbre should be carried out in an analogous way to the research on loudness and pitch, the difference limen of parameter n are estimated for the complex tones with equal loudness and pitch.
