Magnetisation of the easy-plane ferromagnetic S = 1 2 chain and application to (C6H11NH3)CuBr3

Abstract
The magnetisation of the ferromagnetic spin - 1 2 one-dimensional anisotropic Heisenberg model in the presence of a magnetic field applied in the easy plane is computed for finite chains with free boundary conditions. The infinite chain estimates are extracted from extrapolations in 1/N and satisfactory convergence for temperatures above 4K is found. The results are compared with the experimental data on the title compound (CHAB) and a quantitative agreement is found. © 1988.
