Abstract
Results of an experimental program are presented which has been aimed at the production of ammonium sulfate from industrial waste called ″phosphogypsum″ obtained at phosphoric acid plants. The process of phosphogypsum conversion has been carried on by gaseous method (gaseous NH//3 and CO//2) as well as by liquid one (water solution of (NH//4)//2CO//3). On the basis of the investigations carried out, it has been found that use of a water solution of ammonium carbonate is more advantageous.
