  • Anna Wieradzka-Pilarczyk,
  • Monika Hoffmann

Addictions are most often associated with alcohol, drugs and other psychoactive substances. Although there is a concept of addiction related to objects or activities in public awareness but they are not treated as a serious problem. These addictions are the most often unconscious strategies of regulating feelings. The addictive actions are aimed at drowning out difficult emotions and creating a feeling of pleasure. The purpose of this dissertation “Phonoholism – diagnosis and help strategy” is to show mobile phone addiction, which is an example of behave addiction, as a real threat. Although this addiction is seen rather as a harmless quirk, it carries a number of physical, psychological and social consequences. Children and young people are particularly exposed to them, because of developing habits related to using this device from an early age. Addiction specialists have already created therapeutic methods and preventive recommendations from technology addiction. The problem of phonholism, which is growing every year, shows that it is necessary to constantly search for new strategies to increase public awareness and help addicts. We also need a deeper awareness of social processes which are cause of escape from eff ort and making diffi cult decisions and destroying of hope for achieving distant goals. The search for diff erent solutions to the existing situations is also associated with a whole range of preventive activities, whose integral part are workshops prepared and conducted for diff erent age groups, in order to protect against the negative effects of constantly developing new technologies that not only develop and build, but also improperly used, destroy and disintegrate.
