Station liturgy as an expression of the unity of local Church. Study based on selected celebrations in the Archdiocese of Poznań

Abstract
In the dissertation following research questions were presented: the relationship between the station liturgy and its influence on strengthening the unity of local Church and the role of bishop in strengthening the unity expressed by liturgy. In particular, this issue was presented on the example of the Archdiocese of Poznań. The first chapter discussed historical issues. Author explained meaning of term statio, indicated the source of its origin and the process of permeating into the Christian liturgy. Moreover the history of station liturgy over the course of centuries and the manner of its celebration in Rome at the beginning of the 8th century were described. The second chapter of the dissertation was devoted to the unifying factors in the station Mass. Author examined qualities of the liturgy that have a special ability to integrate the local Church. The role of the bishop as a guarantor of unity and a sign of communion was also described. In the third chapter, author focused on the bishop's duties and ministration in the sacramental station liturgy. The liturgical regulations describing the celebration of the sacraments under the leadership of the bishop were also analyzed. The experience of the Church in Poznań was described in the last chapter. The pastoral teaching of Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki was analyzed in terms of the title problem of the dissertation.- Record ID
