Parliamentary political parties to public broadcasters in the Third Republic of Poland

Abstract

The aim of the doctoral thesis was an in-depth analysis of the attitude of parliamentary political parties to public broadcasters in the Third Republic of Poland. Achieving this objective was possible by analyzing theoretical investigations focused on the political system and the media system, approximation of theoretical arrangements in the field of broadly understood communication and mass media, examining the formation of the Polish party system in the Third Republic of Poland with particular emphasis on the importance of parliamentary elections, defining and characterizing the position of parliamentary groups against the National Council of Radio Broadcasting and Television and public broadcasting on the basis of available source materials and confronting them with practical actions, analyzing legal regulations defining the framework for the functioning of the National Council of Radio Broadcasting and Public Broadcasting in the Third Republic of Poland’ studying the mode and circumstances of appointing members of the National Broadcasting Council and public broadcasting authorities and examining the backstage of adopting subsequent amendments to the Radio and Television Act and the staffing of posts in the National Broadcasting Council and public radio and television, which provided valuable information about the intentions of their authors.
