## Development of technology and implementation of chelate - Fe(III)-5MHBED

#### Abstract

The subject of this doctoral dissertation is: "Development of technology and implementation of chelate – Fe(III)-5MHBED ". The aim of the project was to develop a technology for obtaining Fe(III)-5MHBED micronutrient fertilizer, which is an alternative to Fe(III)EDDHA, Fe(III)EDDHMA, Fe(III)HBED products used on calcareous soils as an effective source of absorbable iron. A number of chemical syntheses has been performed, leading to the development of a production strategy for this compound, using generally available chemical raw materials, organic solvents and water. The selection of the best reaction parameters leading to the chelating agent with maximum efficiency has been presented. The developed production method has been confirmed in tests carried out on a pilot plant. The mass and energy balance of the process has been presented. A production layout for Fe(III)-5MHBED chelate in solid and liquid form has been designed, and a work schedule has been presented along with the technological description. Stability in water solutions and soil conditions has been determined for the obtained product. The physicochemical characteristics and working properties of the product have been discussed, and the results have been compared to the parameters of its commercial counterparts. A method of applying liquid chelate in the form of intra-seed fertilizers has been presented.
